Acupuncture is GREAT for Managing of Stress in Adults & Children!

Acupuncture Works for Stress, Neck and Back PainIt is a widely held belief that acupuncture is a great way to relieve stress. Acupuncture treatments at our office are geared to address stress in addition to our patient’s main complaint.  Many of our patients find a sense of deep relaxation and sleep or meditate during treatment to enhance the stress-reducing effects of acupuncture.

Being a kid should be easy, right?  Kids are under more stress than ever before.  Between our fast-paced lifestyle, early school hours, and structured activities some kids experience stress levels that leave them overstimulated and cranky.  If you find that your child is having a hard time waking up in the morning or is moody and tired after school, your child is probably experiencing stress.

Acupuncture can help children relax and unwind just like adults.  Children enjoy the sense of well-being and calm they experience with acupuncture treatments and look forward to coming to our office.

Research is confirming what we already know about acupuncture and it’s effects on relieving stress!

Several studies have seen groups diagnosed with chronic stress display remarkable improvement in quality of life and lower stress levels due to acupuncture.  Despite this evidence it has remained largely unclear why or how acupuncture is able to reduce stress levels. A recent study however has come closer to pinpointing how acupuncture can specifically target and reduce stress. The researchers found that electro-acupuncture interacted with hormones in the brain to reduce their stress elevating effects. These results are promising as researchers find more and more evidence to show that acupuncture is a scientifically viable way to relieve stress and other ailments.
